“Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature:old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
“What’s your name?”- It is a question we get asked all the time.
We teach our children from a very young age to recognize their name and to respond to that name. Before a child is even born, parents are hard at work trying to decide what he or she should be called.
Your name defines you. It is who you are.
The same is true as a Christian. When you are saved God gives you a new name. God calls you His child.
Satan, however, does not like this. He wants to remind you of all the other things you were before you were saved: sinner, hypocrite, liar, drunk, drug dealer, gossiper, thief… so many things we were before God changed our hearts.
In today’s verse, we are reminded that we are new creatures when God saves us.
The song I am sharing today talks about this same issue. I know this is a very popular song and I am sure that you have heard it before, but I wanted it to be a reminder for you this morning. No matter who the devil tries to tell you that you are, no matter what he calls you, remember that God says you are a child of the King.
I pray that this song will encourage your heart and motivate you today.
God bless you.
