New Beginnings in 2015

new year

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17

Happy New Year, my friend!

Can you believe that another year is upon us? It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming 2014, and here we are today in the first day of 2015.

Have you made any New Year’s resolutions? Are there things that you plan on doing differently this year?

I have made resolutions in the past years, but somehow I never could stick with them. Last year, however, I did make a couple of resolutions that I actually accomplished.

The first resolution I made was to read the entire Bible. If you have never done this, let me encourage you to commit to it in 2015. I have been reading my Bible for years, but there was something different about reading it all the way through. I learned so many things that I had missed while reading my Bible sporadically.

The next resolution I made was to really focus on my relationship with God and to grow in Him. I had been a Christian for years, but felt that I was not being all I could be for Christ. I spent the past year seeking God’s guidance in my life and really listening for His calling. Did I hit the mark every time? Absolutely not, but I did get up and try again every time.

This year my goal is to again read my Bible all the way through. I feel that there are areas of the Scripture that I did not fully grasp, therefore, I want to go back and try again. If you would like to join me on this journey I would love to hear from you.

Again, as last year, I want to really focus on my relationship with Christ. I pray that I will continue to grow in Him this year. As I do this, I pray that God will help me to encourage others along the way.

I want to encourage you today. Take this blessing of a new year as an opportunity to start fresh. No matter what happened last year or how you feel you missed the mark, get back up and try again!

Each new year is like a new chapter in your book of life. Today is the first day of a new chapter. You have 364 more to go. How will you fill them? Let God guide you. What a beautiful story He will create in you!

Love,

~Valarie~
