As the daughter of pastor/missionaries, I was blessed to have travelled throughout the United States. After eight years in ministry on the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico, my family’s return to hometown Louisiana led me to new experiences.
At the age of 15, I met the man who would become my husband. After 13 years with this wonderful man, I am now the married 30-year-old mother of three sweet children.
God has allowed me to continue in His ministry as a teacher at the Christian school my children attend.
When I consider the Scripture verse which touches me most: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11), I am amazed anew that God has called me into the ministry of encouragement through His Word.
My goal in life is to remember and embody my favorite quote:
“God doesn’t want your ability. He wants your availability.”
Valerie – I am encouraged by your beautiful blog and am taking notes to upgrade and refine my own. Counting it an awesome privilege to touch many who may be lost out there in worldwideweb land. May God bless and richly increase your service and joy! Marsha
