Motivational Monday: Saying, “Thank You”

Veterans day

“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Today, on this Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to say, “Thank you” to all of the men and women who have served our country. I can not imagine the sacrifices that you made. Thank you for protecting our freedom. Thank you for standing up for our country when others would not or could not.

There are not enough words to say to express the gratitude and respect I have in my heart for all the ones who have given their time and their lives for our country.

To the families of the countless fallen heroes I would like to say, “Thank you.” I want to encourage your heart today by reminding you that this sacrifice was not in vain. Others may forget the sacrifices made, but God knows. He sees. He will never forget. I pray today that God will wrap you in His comforting arms.

To the families of our veterans I would like to say, “Thank you.” Thank you for the sacrifices that you made. Thank you for the support that was shown to your loved ones as they deployed to do the job they felt they had been called to do.

On this Veterans Day I want us to remember to thank our Veterans. Take the time today to let someone know how much you appreciate the sacrifice they made for our country. Find a way to honor a veteran today. Remember to offer a word of encouragement and support to the families of our fallen heroes as well. May we never forget the sacrifices that were made for our country.

Friday Fun: What Are You Thankful For?

thanks

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thessalonians 5:18

Do you take the time to thank God for all the things with which you have been blessed? I know that sometimes in the craziness of this life we forget to stop and say,”Thank you.” Today I want to do something different. I borrowed this idea from a friend and I wanted to share it with you.

Today I want us to take a few minutes to think of 5 things for which we are thankful. These 5 things cannot be the big things, like God, family and country. They have to be 5 simple things, something that will help us to remember to be thankful today. We always seem to be thankful for the big things, but what about all of the little things which God blesses us with each day.

I will go first:

  1. Today I am thankful for you, my dear readers.
  2. Today I am thankful for quite time alone with God. Time that I can sit and listen for God to speak and to study His word.
  3. Today I am thankful for warm coffee to wake me.
  4. Today I am thankful for the ability to bless others with God’s word.
  5. Today I am thankful for a safe, comforting place to call home.

Now, it is your turn. Please join me by commenting below and listing 5 things for which you are thankful.

Let us always remember to count our blessings. May we never find ourselves too busy to stop and remember how blessed we are each day.

Praising God Each Day

thankful

“For this I will praise you,

O Lord, among the nations,

and sing praises to your name.”

2 Samuel 22:50

Each morning this week as I have had my devotions I have noticed a common theme: Thankfulness and Praise. Each day was a different devotion by a different person and each day had a different verse, but each one spoke on the same subject each time.

Some might say that was just “coincidence or chance.” I do not believe in either one of those things. I believe when God has a message for you that He will continue to give it to you until you recognize it and learn from it.

I thought it might be fun since it is Friday and everyone is headed into the end of the work week, to take some time to praise God and to thank Him for all of His many blessings on us.

I would like to encourage you to share your comments here so we can all enjoy praising God together. The neat thing about sharing this way is that we do not even have to be together in one place to praise God, but some day, if we have accepted Jesus into our hearts, we will all get to praise Him together for eternity!

Has God done a great work in your life? Has he brought you through a trial you never thought you could face? Is there someone for whom you are thankful today, and you want to thank God for bringing them into your life? Let us take time today to stop and thank God for each of those things. We have so much to be thankful for and we ought to praise God no matter what the day brings.

I read a quote this morning that I would like to share with you:

God is great“The unthankful heart discovers no mercies,

but the thankful heart sweeps through the day,

and as the magnet finds the iron,

so it will find in every precious hour some heavenly blessing.”

~ Oliver Wendell Holmes~

I am so thankful for all the blessings that God has bestowed upon me. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and three beautiful children. I am thankful today that my Heavenly Father loved me so much that He sent His Son to die on a cross for my sins. I am thankful today that I am promised a home in Heaven some day.

I also want to give praise and honor to God for the opportunity and the ability to share with you each day. What a blessing it is to get to encourage each other through God’s word. Thank you all for being a part of this blessing and sharing in it with me. I pray that this ministry will continue to grow and that God will forever remain in the center of it all.

Now it is your turn. What are you thankful for today? I would love to hear from you in the comments below.
